Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Information Technology/Systems (VP IT), the IT Applications Specialist I provides support of applications, software, and architecture in the development, system testing and productions environments of InnovAge and its affiliates.

Essential Functions and Work Responsibilities

Functional Category: Application Support

Estimated Percent of time Spent 100%

  • Installs applications in the development and system test environments for pre-release testing.
  • Performs system administration by writing utilities and monitoring information technology services.
  • Provides technical support and maintenance of installed applications software.
  • Implements, configures and tests new product versions with end users.
  • Interacts with end users and software vendors in order to troubleshoot installation and implementation issues.
  • Communicates problems and problem resolutions to Systems Administrator to improve ongoing services delivery.
  • Develops and maintains detailed technical knowledge of the specifications, operation, and diagnostic of products while maintaining familiarity with competing products.
  • Organizes, produces, and reports on the progress of ongoing testing, trials, and evaluation of new products and services.
  • Analyzes existing workflow environments and assists with setting up and configuring new installations to fit into workflow models.
  • Conducts orientation to new users regarding applications of software.
  • Acts as a consultant to internal and external customers during their use, development and quality assessment of spatial databases
  • Develops departmental policies and procedures and ensures that others are in understanding and compliance.
  • Provides general systems consulting, systems analysis and overall leadership related to the acquisition and use of computing systems in assigned business areas.
  • Accountable for the success of projects, repairs, process improvements, and overall benefits realization.
  • Functions as a key point of user contact and customer service for Information Services, and is accountable for user satisfaction.
  • Prepares analytical reports and makes recommendations to management based on observations and analysis.
  • Ensures that the goals, philosophies, and objectives of InnovAge are optimally supported by information technology.
  • Incorporates refinements in applications based on organization changes and/or process improvements.
  • Educates individuals both within and outside of IT in regards to information systems and services.
  • Collaborates with other IT members in order to identify and select new system solutions.
  • Assists in the management of large and small IT projects.
  • Plans, conducts and may supervise assignments, as needed.
  • Reviews progress and evaluates results for projects and objectives.
  • Assists in the training of others in technical complexities of assigned work.
  • Occasionally supports the helpdesk.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

Education

  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or a related field from an accredited college/university, required
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or a related field from an accredited college/university, preferred

Work Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience providing applications support, systems integration and system administration
  • Current experience in supporting Greenway/PrimeSuite, COTS EMR/EHR systems in addition to experience using Adobe Captivate.
  • Experience with and understanding of relational databases, active directories and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experienced and skilled in gathering data, assembling requirements, outline solutions, identifying problems and recommending solutions.
  • Skilled at prioritizing and being able to work under the pressure of multiple demands while meeting/exceeding deadlines.
  • Knowledge of and current experience with the creation, architecture, integration and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Databases.
  • Experience with building and maintain databases for query and problem tracking, specifically SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008, Data cubes, Excel server, Data Views and performance tuning.
  • Current expertise in Kronos, Greenway Medical EMR, MS Dynamics Solomon and MS SQL Server in addition to Reporting Services, SharePoint and Knowledge Lake.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
